Soderling was broken 1st game of the match but since then has been on top. Finally got th ebreak back for 4-4 and held for 5-4* when I backed at 1.34.

Terrible TB from Soderling lost it 10-8 but never had a set point as kept giving points away at crucial moments. Cilic to serve 1st in the 2nd so I hope Soderling can do what he did in the 1st set.

Gonna try and trade my way out of this now let's hope I'm lucky!

I think the gambling Gods are well and truly telling me my time is up! I held with Soderling right through his dodgy patch then I decide to back the serve for a few games and bang Soderling breaks! Arse!

Zakopalova was 5*-0 up in the 1st set when I got on at 1.11
Typical Baltacha broke her but was then broken again for 6-1 and set. Baltacha yet to hold a game then!

It doesn't bode well for the World Cup if they can't even keep their scoreboard working in Qatar! And no streaming? What is that all about. I really don't know why each tournament doesn't broadcast it on their own website if they don't have a broadcaster. It would mean more site traffic keep their sponsors happier and thus raise more money. And us punters could watch the action! Everyone a winner :-)

Life is a rollercoaster, Just got to ride it!

Well since I last left you with my punt on Arsenal I have more ups than downs in quantity but, alas not financially. As you will see below I have lost £1,422.97 over the last 3 weeks. And so it is time to bid farewell to punting as I did before. Whilst the loss can be justified as only coming from earlier winnings that is most definitely the mindset of an addict like myself!

HOWEVER!!!! As I am an addict it wouldn't be right and proper to go out with one last challenge LOL

Tomorrow is Sunday and on my original forum thread I went from around £100 on the Sunday to £10,000 by Thursday. I may not repeat that but I'll have a crack. So I have loaded up my last ever (for now) deposit to Betfair of £100 and have set my deposit limit to £0.00.

Come Thursday night regardless of what I have or don't have I am withdrawing the lot and self excluding for 6 months. That will at least give me the chance to come back for the US Open if I wish.

Ups & Downs!

Sorry not been posting much of late but the silly hours I was keeping for Aussie tennis finally caught up with me and I was dying of man flu last week!

I have still been having the odd punt. Indeed I got as high as £188 or there abouts only to go back down to £6. Them's the breaks I guess. Overall I lost my entire bank AGAIN!!

So here we are at the end of January and my loss for 2011 stands at £217.86.

So with more reasonable hours to be kept over the coming weeks I have loaded up £500 hoping I can get that profit figure into the green by 1st Feb. I know it's chasing but hey I tend to do the things that you shouldn't! LOL

If I lose it then I feel it will probably be time to walk away again and just leave the punting alone.

As for Andy Murray, gutted for him again. I still feel he will win a slam, and I think it will be this year, with Wimbledon and the US a possibility. Well done to Novak though, hopefully the Federer Nadal procession is over (but that's been said before!)

Anyway on with the punting and I've backed Arsenal from the off. :o

Hello everyone. Sorry not going to be blogging as normal tonight. The lack of sleep is catching up with me and I feel like crap. Thought I'd have 1 punt tonight so that is what I did and now I'm off to bed to get some much needed sleep!

The bet was GVL's favourite type! No not just WTA but backing the pre match dog after she wins the 1sts set! Halep won the 1st set so I backed at 2.24. I think she got the break for a 2*-1 lead in the 2nd at which point I layed off for £0.00 exposure on Kleybanova.

I then decided to get back on Halep when serving for the match at 5*-4 @ odds of 1.29. Of course she was broken! So into the TB we went which Halep dominated from start to finish.

I don't usually do tips but I really fancy Fat Bandy here tonight! He was excellent the other night and though I haven't seen all his matches the score line have been impressive so early in the season showing a rich vein of form. On the other hand while I fancied Almagro and backed him against Mannarino he didn't look that convincing despite winning through in the end!

Nalbandian really will blow Almagro off the court if their previous matches are anything to go by. He can be prone to a slow start but he showed no signs of that the other night. also the fact he has only been broken once in 3 matches is very encouraging as opposed to Almagro who has been broken 4 times in 2 matches against opposition no where near the quality of Nalbandian.

I have taken and early price of 1.37 as I feel that the price will shorten considerably, especially if we have people chasing should Real Madrid not beat Athletico!

So I guess if you want to make some nice cash a lay of Nalbandian is the way forward with my predicting abilities of late!!

Well a shaky game a piece to start with but both heldd from deuce. Almagro holds again more comfortably this time to take a 1*-2 lead at the change over. As long as Bandy hold here hopefully he will push on once he's got the two jittery first service games under his belt.

Well there's nothing like a midweek Turkish Cup match to get the punting juices flowing! Thought about just backing Galatasaray outright but 1.17 seemed too skinny for me. The same was said of Over 1.5 Goals at 1.18. SO I have elected to punt on Over 2.5 at 1.56.

Final weekend of the regular season and I have chosen this one as Saints still have an outside chance of clinching home advantage for the play offs. I know it will take a miracle for Panthers to get anything at Falcons but you never know. Saints have picked up some nice momentum over recent weeks and rather than rest players I feel they would be better served trying to keep that going! Let's hope Sean Payton thinks the same!

Anyway I have taken a position from the off at 1.36. Go Saints!!!

Decent opening drive from the Buccaneers but only ends in a field goal. 3-0. (9:58 left in 1st Qtr)

Saints opening drive results in a Touchdown!! Some excellent offence combined with a couple of silly Buccs penalties made it fairly straight forward. 3-7 (4:41 left in 1st) Looks promising for overs backers.

How sexist I here you cry! Oh well I think Peers shades it on the looks front but that picture is actually quite flattering for her!

As for the tennis well Kleybanova should have this at a canter, the only concerns would be that Peers will have home advantage and that it is so early in the season so no form guide.

Probably straight sets but I'll just sit and wait a while I think. Hopefully if Kleybanova serves 1st she will be broken and then we could get some realistic odds. 1.08 is too short for my blood. Maybe that means there's value in the lay???

It's been fun but I enjoyed my time away more than I've enjoyed being back. I thought about not coming back at all, but actually trying it again has cemented firmly in my mind that I do not wish to continue.

Since my 10k thread last summer I had far too much involvement in betting for my liking. The ride was great and I've managed to make a decent profit on it. However I recognise the change and I stated all along that these things come and go. Recognising that the end of the road is nigh is the only way to stay in profit.

I will still have the odd punt but I will go back to the fun betting for a few quid rather than a few thousand!!

Decided not to top my bank up yet as some of the tennis has been a little unexpected this week. So with my £233 left I thought I'd just have a flutter or two.

Firts up is Sela. I got in when Roddick was 0-30 in his 1st service game of the 2nd set. Of course Roddick went on to hold.

I decided to hold my nerve throughout the set as Sela was serving well. He had other chances too but inevitably it went to a Tiebreak.

Roddick kept edging ahead of Sela but getting broken back. Because of this I felt that Roddick would probably go on to win the TB then sail through a 3rd.

So as soon as opportunity arose I bailed my bet and greened out. Although I gave some potential winnings away, if Roddick had won the TB I would have had little opportunity to trade out.

But tennis trading is always full of ups and downs and 5 shots later Sela clinched the match.

Never mind still a good profit.

I've been keeping half an eye on the tennis over the last couple of days but with the rain delays I feel that it really isn't beneficial getting involved. Especially on wet grass when a slip can cause a retirement in a flash.

The best course fo action here I guess is trying to see how players may perform at Wimbledon. You can never do too much researching!

It's doubtful I'll have a bet today but if it looks dry for tomorrow I'll be all systems go!

The British summer has officially arrived with Queens club opening it's hallowed doors once more we are in for a veritable feast of proper tennis.

I really don't see Murray defending his title this week but still live in hope that he can perform some magic at Wimbledon and give Britain it's second World Champion of the year following Schiavone's Crowning as World Dirtball Champion yesterday! It looks an interesting tournament as it's quite a strong field imho will be interesting to see how Roddick and Gasquet perform on the grass this year.

I can't see past Federer for Halle though but at 1.55 ..... NO THANKYOU!!
