It's been a while since my disasterous run of the early summer! I've had a lovely holiday with the family and been busy at work (as always happens when you take time off!).

I think Daimler's holiday policy towards emails should be rolled out across the world as it's a fantastic idea. If you're not aware of it basically all emails while you are n holiday are deleted fron your inbox. No cjhecking you smart phone frm the hotel room before you go down to breakfast or after dinner in the evening. Something I am chronically guilty of.

They do inform the sender by way of an auto response that goes along the lines of: "Thank you for your email, however *insert name* is currently on holiday. It is company policy to delete all incoming emails during holidays. If your email is urgent you can contact *insert colleagues name*  otherwise please contact ***** after *insert name* return on *insert date* .

If I hadn't flicked through my work emails every morning and evening I would have come back to over 1200 emails in my inbox. Assuming I gave the time to read and respond to them all as they have taken the time to send them, that would have consumed (at an average of 30 per hour) 40 hours with no breaks! So I have two weeks holiday and have to work double time the week I get back just to catch up. SOmething not quite right there.

Anyway back to punting. I've just had a great August Bank Holiday weekend and come home to the start of the US Open. I like this time of year as it brings back fond memories. The anniversary of the orignal £10k thread. I can't believe that was 5 years ago!!! Where has the time gone?
